7075 aluminium is a typical high-strength aluminium alloy for aerospace applications. Unfortunately, 7075 aluminium is incompatible with additive manufacturing owing to severe hot cracking tendency, which hinders the fabrication of complex-geometry parts of 7075 aluminium via additive manufacturing. Our newly developed CA750H aluminium alloy powders (modified 7075) have been reliably used on various types of selective laser melting equipment (e.g., BLT-S310, E-Plus-3D EP-M260), with micro-cracks completely suppressed. The as-printed sample exhibits a tensile yield strength of 430-470 MPa, an ultimate tensile strength of 470-500 MPa, and an elongation of 14-18%. The heat-treated sample exhibits a tensile yield strength of 460-540 MPa, an ultimate tensile strength of 530-575 MPa, and an elongation of 7-12%. The fatigue strength is 260MPa under heat treated condition.
