【Bio】

Cao Xiaodong, Ph.D., Professor and Doctoral Supervisor of South China University of Technology (National Engineering Research Centre for Human Tissue Functional Reconstruction), Excellent Talent of the New Century under the Ministry of Education, Director of the Chinese Society for Biomaterials, Chairman of Advanced Manufacturing Branch, Vice-Chairman of the Biomaterials Branch of the Chinese Society for Biomedical Engineering, and selected as one of the top 2% of Stanford's global ‘Lifetime Scientific Impact Ranking D. degree from Wuhan University, School of Chemistry and Molecular Science in 2005; from 2005 to 2010, he worked as a postdoctoral researcher at the Department of Agriculture and Food of the Federal Government of Canada, Nanyang Technological University in Singapore, and North Carolina State University in the United States of America; since May 2010, he has been working in the School of Materials Science and Engineering of South China University of Technology, National Engineering Research Centre for Human Tissue and Functional Reconstruction, and National Biomedical Engineering Research Centre of Biomedical Engineering. Since May 2010, he has been working in the School of Materials Science and Engineering of South China University of Technology, the National Engineering Research Centre for Human Tissue Reconstruction, the Key Laboratory of Biomedical Materials and Engineering of the Ministry of Education, and the Key Laboratory of Biomedical Engineering of Guangdong Province. Currently, he is mainly engaged in the research of biomedical 3D printing and application, the construction of functionalised bone, cartilage, intervertebral disc, skin, nerve tissue regeneration and repair materials and their bio-adaptive molecular mechanisms, etc. The relevant research results have been published in more than 160 papers in international important academic journals, such as Adv. Funct. His research results have been published in Adv. Funct. Mater. and Bioact. Mater, ACS nano and other international journals with more than 160 papers, more than 13,000 citations in Google Scholar, and an H factor of 51. He has been in charge of more than 20 projects, including the National 13th Five-Year Plan, the National Natural Science Foundation of China (5 projects), the Guangdong Provincial Key Areas R&D Programme, and the Ministry of Education's ‘New Century Outstanding Talents’project.
