【Biography】
Xiong Yi, Associate Researcher and PhD Supervisor at Southern University of Science and Technology, is recognized as a high-level talent by both Guangdong Province and Shenzhen City. He is also a visiting professor at the Institute of High Performance Computing (IHPC), Agency for Science, Technology and Research (A*STAR), Singapore. In 2016, he received his Ph.D. in Engineering Design and Manufacturing from Aalto University in Finland. He has previously served as a tenured engineer at Flanders Make in Belgium and a research fellow at the Digital Manufacturing and Design Centre of the Singapore University of Technology and Design.
His research focuses on additive manufacturing of composite materials, design for additive manufacturing, and intelligent materials and structures. He has led multiple national and regional research projects, including key programs under the Ministry of Science and Technology and the National Natural Science Foundation of China. He has published nearly 50 papers in international academic journals such as Nature Communications. He currently serves as the Secretary-General of the Additive Manufacturing Committee of the Chinese Society for Composites.
