Corrosion Behavior of Additively Manufactured Biomedical Titanium Alloys: Insights and Perspectives

【Abstract】

1.Compare the microstructural differences between LPBF and conventionally processed titanium alloys, and analyze how AM-induced anisotropy affects the uniformity and stability of passive films.

2.Combine electrochemical characterization with macroscopic corrosion behavior to reveal the formation mechanism of passive films and corrosion resistance evolution of LPBF titanium alloys in various physiological environments.

3.Investigate mass transport limitations and oxygen concentration gradients induced by porous topological structures, clarifying their new challenges on localized corrosion susceptibility and passive film repair capability.

4.Summarize corrosion resistance regulation strategies via process optimization and surface modification, and outline future pathways for enhancing the long-term service performance of LPBF titanium alloy bone implants.
